The National Association of Rafters - Peace, Democracy and Liberty carries out alternative activities and actions inside the framework of the non violent civic struggle, to promote and to stimulate non violent civic action.  The organization coordinates events directed to different sectors, which promote change and a democratic transition. Activiti4es focus on the northern central region of the country.

Some of the activities include:

Candlelight vigils every Wednesday and fasts every 18^th day of the month

Objective: to carry out civic resistance actions of symbolic nature in order to call people’s attention to the problems of the country in general, and particularly the situation of the political prisoners. Carrying out a fast every 18^th day of the month is done for freedom of all political prisoners.

Objectives: Coordinate with international media, both print and radio, to further the flow of alternative information to report objectively about the Cuban reality and provide a voice for the voiceless, emphasizing news stories from the region of Villa Clara with a permanent reporter present, and to seek more correspondents from different municipalities in the region.

Aid to political prisoners and their families

Objectives: Promote and create means to help political prisoners and their families materially, but also by raising awareness about their situation gaining support from others to promote freedom for political prisoners throughout the island.

Rafter children’s club Willy Chirino activities

Objectives: Celebrate two birthdays a year collectively to promote solidarity among children whose parents form part of civil organizations.
