The 8th Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy
Miami. February 11, 2016. Directorio Democrático Cubano. On February 23, 2016 at 9:30am on the eve of the 2016 session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, activists from around the globe will unite to spotlight critical human rights issues at the 8th Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy. The event will be held at the Geneva International Conference Center (CICG) located at 17 Rue de Varembé, Genéve 1202 Switzerland and is free to the public but requires registration online here (http://www.genevasummit.org/).
The Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy (http://www.genevasummit.org/) currently partnered by 26 nongovernmental organizations from around the world was founded in 2009. This gathering in 2016 includes not only top name dissidents from China, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq, Russia, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Tibet, Cuba, Venezuela and Ukraine but also Lord David Trimble, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and former First Minister of Northern Ireland.
The Cuban Democratic Directorate since 2009 has been one of the partner organizations of the Summit. The Summit can be viewed over live video stream online http://www.genevasummit.org/
