“PRESIDENT TRUMP: INDICT THE CASTRO REGIME IN THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE

26 Feb 2018 10:49 AM | Silvia G. (Administrator)

Miami, Florida- February 26, 2018- “JusticeCuba”- Human rights leaders from around the world make public today an open letter to President Donald J. Trump urging him to act on existing US law and bring the Castro Regime to the International Court of Justice for the murder of three US citizens and one legal resident in the brutal shoot down of two Brothers to the Rescue aircraft over international waters on February 24, 1996.

The leaders and activists from around the world request from U.S. President Donald J. Trump that he enact the provision in United States Federal law 104-114, which urges the President to “seek, in the International Court of Justice, indictment for this act of terrorism by Fidel Castro.”  The law is officially known as the Libertad Act.

The signatures include those of Mexican jurist Rene Bolio, who chairs the International Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes Against Humanity of the Castro Regime “Justice Cuba,”  prominent Chinese dissident Dr. Yang Jianli, a mathematician and former political prisoner,  Anna Maria Cervonne, well known Italian political leader and human rights advocate before the United Nations, Martin Paz, an exiled Venezuelan elected councilman, Dr. Maher Nana, Syrian American physician and humanitarian activist, as well as all of the members of the Justice Cuba Commission and 26 Chinese human rights activists, members of the political opposition and intellectuals.

Made public on the 22nd anniversary of the attack, the letter begins a campaign to seek effective international prosecution of the heinous February 24, 1996 massacre, which has been condemned by diverse international institutions. The Justice Cuba Commission is seeking diverse avenues for the prosecution of a long history of crimes against humanity by the Castro Regime and recently released a preliminary list of 44 members of the Castro Regime tied to severe human rights violations.

JusticeCuba: Jurists, human rights activists and political leaders who are members of the international community created the International Commission for the Castro Regime’s Crimes Against Humanity on March 7, 2017. President Donald J. Trump

The White House

Washington, D.C.

Dear Mr. President

February 24, 2018 marks the 22nd anniversary of the Cuban attack on American aircraft (Brothers to the Rescue) which resulted in the shoot-down of two Brothers’ to the Rescue civilian, unarmed and defenseless planes in international airspace on humanitarian mission to save lives in the Straits of Florida.

On that day in 1996, without warning and in broad daylight, the Castro dictatorship dispatched two fighter jets to hunt the planes down, which resulted in the murders of three American citizens and one United States legal resident: Carlos Costa, Armando Alejandre, Jr., Mario de la Peña y Pablo Morales.

To this day, this heinous crime remains unpunished, despite promises made to their families by previous administrations.

We respectfully request that you enact the action in federal law 104-114, SEC.116, Clause (b) (3) which states:

“The congress urges the President to seek, in the International Court of Justice, indictment for this act of terrorism by Fidel Castro”.

We thank you for your consideration and ask that you use all the means at your disposal to bring these criminals to justice under your administration.

With kind regards,
